How SleepDoc Works

The SleepDoc device produces a natural movement and/or scratching reflex which substitutes abnormal bedwetting reflex by “sensing” the most probable time and position in which most wetting episodes occurs.  To prevent the person from sleeping too deeply, or sleeping in the wrong position, the Sleep Doc starts cycles of quiet non disturbing vibrations in a way that the child will change the body position, scratch, or move otherwise enough to switch stages and consequently, prevent the act of bedwetting. When the patient changes his body position, the SleepDoc automatically stops vibration and resets its timing.

After several weeks of using the “SleepDoc”, the child’s brain should “learn” the more adequate way to shift stages. In this case, the act of enuresis is not “needed” any longer and it will spontaneously disappear.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

There are many types, multiple causes, and complicated dynamics of bedwetting. The “SleepDoc” is not a therapeutic device, but it is designed to help those cases of bedwetting that are associated with sleep deviations by switching one reflex (uncontrollable act of urination) to more adequate movement reflexes. It is strongly advisable for patients or parents to consult their doctor about their specific case, so using the “SleepDoc” should be an adjunct to the treatment of the primary condition and a part of the whole enuresis management plan.

The SleepDoc may be covered under your health insurance policy when prescribed by a physician. It would be considered a covered DME product. (Durable Medical Equipment). The Healthcare Common Procedure Code is: HCPCS #S8270.(Keep your receipt to file with your claim.)
